Presidents' Ball 2024

For this project I was given a task to create the art direction for the promotional design of the GVSU Presidents' Ball 2024.

The Presidents' Ball is a tradition of the university held every year. The theme for this year's event was Enchantment.

The client wanted a full package that includes; 42X72” banner that hung in our student center, posters to be posted across campus, pluggers to hand out at tabling events, social posts, a web header, and yard signs. Special deliverables for this event included; a vinyl welcome banner, menu and table cards, and screen slides for the event hall projector for the awards during the dinner service.

For the creation of this design I was inspired by vintage decorated book covers. To achieve this art style I located assets that resembled flowers and forage of an enchanted forest and created a poster design surrounding the title and information of the event. To make this design stand out, I added a gold effect to the main typography as well as the forage assets against a watercolor green background.
