Remind Me of My Humanity

Ecological systems rely on symbiosis. And before the industrial revolution, human beings engaged in them to inhabit the Earth harmoniously. As emotions of human desire in the west increase and overwhelm morality, parasitic consumption escalates— along with pollution and climate change. The misguided assumption that technology yields a brighter future has pursued capitalist production to such an unsustainably alarming rate, it’s extracted the planet of its own nature. Remind Me of My Humanity features prints, photographs, and paintings that meditate on our role in the environment. This exhibition reflects a thorny question: is humanity capable of change?
