Visiones De Guadalupe

2024 – 2025

"Visiones De Guadalupe: a group art exhibition celebrating the cultural impact of La Virgen De Guadalupe together through community and dialogue.

Reconciling the concepts of identity and belonging in our identity as Mexicanos/Latinos living in the U.S. has crossed over and through the borders. La Virgen De Guadalupe’s commemoration is celebrated with love and longing all throughout the U.S. reminding us of our deep connection to Mexican culture. She, woman, symbolizes a notion of home regardless of where one might find themselves even if geographically or mentally jeopardized; warmth and comfort resembling a mother’s unconditional love. The themes of hope, unity, and unconditional love are explored through this year’s curation. As a connection to our deep ancestral roots, many art pieces ask the viewer to think and feel deeper, reflecting on themes of loss, destruction, destructure, colonization, and indoctrination. As the contrasting themes emerge throughout this year’s exhibition, the uniting factor is that of a divine mothers ability to be understanding, welcoming you as you are in your human entirety."
